when a dream becomes real

My Real Place is a newly launched community website focused on the Real Estate market.
We created My Real Place to provide consumers with access to real estate information and to have a degree of control in the realty process.
I was frustrated with what was out there to help me buy my own place and thought we could do better. I wanted to bring all aspects of the real estate market together - listings, realtors, mortgage brokers, contractors etc and do it in a novel, intuitive and easy to use way. To be able to ask questions on my own terms and in my own time, to find out easily who's selling what and where.
It's early days yet but we seem to be getting a lot of interest from people who seem to like it. We think it's awesome but I guess we would say that.
We currently have over 15,000 property listings, over 4,000 realtors and other realty professionals. We're getting over 2,000 people a day on the site so I guess we must be doing something right. We hope to roll out across Canada in the next few months so it's exciting times.
If you get chance, check it out and let us know what you think. Stop by and say hi.
Cheers

"We're getting over 2,000 people a day on the site so I guess we must be doing something right." Or you're spamming a lot of blogs, like this one.
I don't consider it spam, just sharing the annoucement of a new service that's free for consumers and that they find useful. I'd prefer to call it news. I'd be interested if other people consider this spamming.

Yes, I do. This blogsite and its participants are here to post blogs of
a more socially interesting nature than the flogging of Real Estate,
or the drumming-up of more business for your personal enrichment.
Maybe the polite young men who founded this website wouldn't exactly
lay it on you like this, but I will. If you want to scoff some free
advertising, which you appear to be doing, we resent the intrusion
because it isn't in keeping with the principles behind this site's creation.
Start your own web page if you want to interact with the business community.
This is not the right venue for that kind of activity.
Hi Ray
I accept your position but must address a couple of your points. My Real Place is FREE service for the benefit of consumers, not my personal enrichment. The site has been created to provide consumers with a voice, access to information that is othewise the preserve of professionals that control its access. It's about allowing people to engage with each other and discuss the single most expensive purchase they will make in their life. To ask questions of professionals on their own terms and in their own time, to find professionals through the recommendation of their consumer peers.
We don't carry advertising on the site, we don't exploit our users, we provide a valuable service free of charge for consumers and we would like to share this fact with others. This is what social media is about. Have you looked at the site, I think you'll find it's more of a service o people than an intrusion.
I accept your right to consider this spam but I know that there are many others who see it for what it is - news.
Kind regards
Jonathan
I'm not interested in your site or in a continuing debate - my interest
is in keeping this site's bandwidth available for its usual users,
who aren't using it for anything other than exchanging thoughts & ideas
and sharing personal perspectives with others. This doesn't appear to
be what you're up to here. You're obviously the pushy type who seems to
refuse to take "no" for an answer, and I've met that kind before.
I'm 74 years old, and you aren't about to teach me anything. You also
aren't about to change my mind. So if you get a chance to get lost, take it!
