VancouverArtShow.ca and ArtShow Magazine

Re: VancouverArtShow.ca and
ArtShow Magazine
As a Vancouver artist, I have long been aware that two things were noticeably absent and very much needed on the Vancouver visual arts scene. The first was a well known public place where both established and emerging Vancouver artists could display their work and their contact information prominently; -and without having to mortgage their house to do so. And secondly, we needed a magazine to promote interest and provide news, information and editorial perspectives on Vancouver art and Vancouver artists, while keeping up with national and international art news at the same time.
I started working on VancouverArtShow.ca, and “ArtShow Magazine” late last year. The Art Show now showcases 44 local artists, including myself. Artshow Magazine is in its third edition, with the first two available as back issues.
I want this website and magazine to be of use to practically anyone with an interest in visual art, especially in here in the lower mainland, so I invite everyone to take a look and let me know what you think. Also, if you have any art-related news tips, upcoming art events, story ideas or other suggestions, please drop me a line.

What a coincidence you wrote this article. I was feeling the same way, so that's why I recently opened Yaletown Gallery which is a modest contemporary art gallery in (where else) Yaletown, Vancouver. We're very pro artists (being an artist myself), so that's why we give back 70% of the sales.
