World Poetry Lives!

Thanks to a CBC TV News feature with Bob Nixon, we were able to reach the amount of money we needed for our radio show, The World Poetry Café during the latest fall fundraiser.
A few minutes after the show was broadcast, I received a call from a donor in Victoria who kindly donated $200 to put us over our goal and keep us on the air!
We also want to thank poet Douglas Bacon, World Poetry Volunteer of the Year 2008 and Addena Sumter-Freitag for reading their poetry and expressing themselves with great soul on the subject of poetry.
We have to come up with $700 per year to keep The World Poetry Café on the air and during the two fundraisers that Co-op radio has per year, is the time to get memberships.
Coop Radio relies only upon the financial support of its members.
Thank you to CBC TV News and Gloria Macarenko for saying: “World Poetry Lives!”

I forgot to say that CBC TV found out about us due to the Urban Vancouver blog! Thanks everyone.
Bob had been going through the blogs and found the one about needed $172.00 for the radio show.
What a good ending-it pays to blog.
