Utility workers ain't what they used to be....

"Pass me my spurs and belt.... er, I mean - gimme a hand with this ladder."
Back in my day, we got up & down poles without the use of ladders.

Back in my day, we got up & down poles without the use of ladders.
The power lines are always at the top of the pole so I imagine that makes it more awkward to use a long ladder. For cable/phone utility workers they only have to go up to the middle of the pole.
I haven't paid attention but don't most utility workers use a boom-lift from their truck now when working on a pole?
