Diamond Parking

Diamond Parking

By Judicial Reseach on October 12, 2008 - 6:16pm

I note people have had ticketing problems with Diamond Parking. I recently again had one. Some time ago I also had an interchange with them. They did not follow through. I have again written of a fresh uneccessary ticket. I await result of this latest one. A class action may be available here. I am looking for some people willing to be on board a small health and justice research group that we would be able to indicate of some unethics or injustice that from input may just work to redress those situations. Leave a message on my cell if this interests you. 778 389 4372.

I received a ticket from Diamond parking last year.. I stopped in their lot for a few minutes. I got out of my car and then turned around and drove away as I was in the wrong place. Later I recieved a ticket in the mail. There was no way anyone wrote a ticket although when I found I was told that a ticket was put on my car. The truth is all they did was write down my license plate as i drove away and sent it to me. I was only in their lot for a total of 3 minutes. They were going to charge me $100 but eventually negotiated it down to $30 or $40 since they said they had paid some company to help identify me and they had to cover their costs. If I did not pay they said they would tow my car if I ever parked in their lot again. Even if you challenge them and win they will just tow your car later. They run their company like gangsters. They do not clearly identify their lots and so you never know when they will be there to take your car. As I said they are just like gangsters making you pay protection. I would never park in a Diamond lot again if I knew the lot was run by them. Avoid them at all costs.

I had two co-workers who were experiencing the same trouble with Diamond parking when I mentioned the problems I was facing. Diamond's unfair and unjust policies are not just exceptions to the rule. They are part of the way they do business.

Like so many others on this site, and the gentelman who appeared on BC TV Global News last week, I have experienced an attempted scam by DPS. They sent me a notice for a ticket I never even received. I had no idea even where the street was, and had never been to that location. After a month and a half of correspondence with the company, I was told that I could pay 20$ to close the case. However, I refuse to pay this ticket based on principle! Does anyone know if there is legal action in the works against this company? If anyone has any information, please contact me at 'postnie@hotmail.com'. There is power in numbers and it sounds as though the same 'scamming attempts' have happened to many.
