Vancouver July 13, 2009 - It isn't every day that a musician finds Hon. Stockwell Day and Merritt B.C. Mayor Susan Roline in the backseat of her limo on the way to a festival performance. The pair graciously accompanied Karen to her Merritt Mountain Music Festival show last Thursday to a crowd of approx. 15,000 people. Karen's limousine was granted exclusive access to the festival grounds and her entourage created a stir by handing out Karen's CD "Pushing the Edge" and Hevy D Popcorn to enthusiastic fans along the way.
Karen is currently touring Western Canada in support of her debut CD, PUSHING THE EDGE and the affiliated release of her music video for the song “Tell Me”. Karen’s other tour dates in Western Canada are listed at www.myspace.com/karenfowlie.

I received a letter yesterday indicating that I have received a parking violation ticket back in May 2009 while I've parked in a reserved lot. However, I have not received any ticket on that specific day by a DP patrol. So I phoned them this morning to dispute the ticket and I had to go through their complicated voice messaging system for 5 min to figure out which option to choose from, finally I went through their company directory as there was no clear option to choose and talk to a person. Anyway, after I spoke with the agent she claimed that I received a ticket on May 27 and I walked away to another store where does not belong to their parking lot so the patrol person issued me a ticket. When I asked for a copy of the ticket she claimed they do not have any copy just details. I insist on not receiving any ticket so she offered me just pay the ticket original amount in 15 days not the penalties. This is a same case that happened to friend of mine a month ago. So I figured it out they are trying to charge people as much as they can. I really do not know what to do and do not want to pay this unfair charge as I was neither parked there nor received any ticket. Pls advice what to do with these kind of scams. BTW, I live in Lonsdal NV area and I received twice parking ticket from City of North Van with actual ticket and I paid them on time with no penalties.

From the side of a mountain on the West Coast of British Columbia, a new voice resonates off the waters of Howe Sound – it’s that of KAREN FOWLIE. Karen’s debut CD, PUSHING THE EDGE is an exciting alt. country/rock collection of upbeat songs which delve into the deepest recesses of human emotion. One of the most poignant tracks, “TELL ME,” examines CHILDHOOD BULLYING and its effect on conflict in adulthood. To back this song, an independently-produced music video is scheduled for release July 6, 2009. “Tell Me” garnered Karen AN ACCOLADE FROM THE BRITISH COLUMBIA ATTORNEY GENERAL and obtained national exposure in 7-11 and Wal-Mart stores as Hevy D Popcorn included “Tell Me” as a free download in their product. Karen hopes that calling attention to this painful and timely issue with the universal language of song, will help to foster an ongoing dialogue among parents, schools, children, educators and politicians the world over. She is currently available for interviews and public appearances upon request and is performing live at the MERRITT MOUNTAIN MUSIC FESTIVAL on July 9th and 11th.

Vancouver MLS Home Search
The internet has greatly expanded the search for homes by home buyers and sellers. You can find a list of available homes for sale on the MLS system from the comfort of your home. RealtyLinkOnline, mls.ca and many other Realtors's websites are easily accessible to the public.
MLS Search criteria
You first determine the city you are interested in, your budget and the type of home you are looking for. You then select the number of bedrooms and bathrooms to search. Once you enter your criteria and press the search button, you will get a list of homes currently listed for sales on the market.
For neighborhood information, and recent activities in a neighborhood your are interested, you will need to contact a local Realtor for guidance. Not all realtors are buyer specialists. Some top producers are concentrating on listing homes for sale only, and they may not be the ones to help you looking for a home to buy.

Perhaps its relative geographic obscurity on the far west side of the city, the unassuming and some would say uninviting exterior facade or just the power of rumors, but it seems to me that Café D’Lite has a unique impression in the minds of many Vancouver diners in that although popular, reports of its demise seem always front and center. Call it the Mark Twain of the city’s restaurant scene.
