Sins of the City Walking Tour

This two hour walking tour--run by the Vancouver Police Museum--takes participants through the oldest parts of Vancouver, exploring the early (and roguish) history of our city. Covering ten city blocks, the tour visits numerous locations, including the site of one of Vancouver’s oldest brothel districts, the location of the city’s first saloon as well as the first police station (and jail). Opium dens, gambling houses and beer parlors are also featured topics of the tour. Tour runs every Wednesday at 2pm and Friday and Saturday at 4pm until October 1, 2008.

Covering twelve city blocks, this two-hour walking tour visits numerous locations in Japantown, Chinatown and Gastown, highlighting some of the many brothels, opium dens, gambling houses and bootlegging joints that once called this city home.

These walking tours take place, rain or shine, on Fridays and Saturdays at 4 p.m. throughout the summer. The fee is $12 for adults, $10 for students and seniors; Reservations are required 24 hours in advance by calling (604) 665-3346. Participants are also invited to visit the Police Museum on the day of their walking tour at no additional charge.
