What happens when a happy frog and a pod of whales get together to change the world? Vancouver, Canada-based, green web companies 3rdWhale.com and happyfrog.ca announced an equity merger with plans to grow globally with the goal of helping eco-minded consumers make informed choices in all aspects of their lifestyle - from organic food to eco-travel.
Vancouver, BC (PRWEB) November 12, 2008 -- Vancouver Canada-based, green web companies 3rd Whale and happyfrog.ca announced an equity merger and plans to grow globally under the 3rd Whale name.
The merger combines 3rd Whale's location-based mobile phone application with happyfrog.ca's rich "web 2.0" platform providing green consumers with cross-platform tools to find values-aligned businesses. By using the company's next generation mobile and web tools, participants can easily share their eco-smarts by adding business reviews, blog posts, and mentoring programs to help others reduce their eco-footprint.
In the beginning, happyfrog.ca was created to help green-minded citizens find businesses and organizations which fit their values and displayed the results sorted by proximity to conserve transportation resources.
Then, happyfrog invited the public to add reviews to the thousands of listings, as well as engage in a community Q&A project to share tips and solve problems.
Now, all the "frogs" can auto-magically share their green favourites with the public with Myhappyfrog with a unique address to share with friends.
Members can now see all the reviews, questions & answers, and blog posts they've submitted so far via a personal address which looks something like this: http://happyfrog.ca/user/daveo
Share favourite green bizes and orgs
Members can add any listing as a "favourite" to share their preferred coffee shop, yoga studio, or organic market with the public and then add a badge to their blog or site to let people know about their happyfrog page.
YOUNG CONDO SELLER INSPIRED TO GIVE 10% OF HIS REAL ESTATE PROFITS TO THE ENVIRONMENT!
Nathaniel Brown, a young 25-year old condo owner in Kitsilano has decided that he wants to make a difference and help the environment. But he doesn’t want to just make a small difference; He is donating a full 10% of the profits he will be receiving on the sale of his condo (which should amount to $15,000) to local environmental groups.
This action was inspired when Nathaniel came across Vancouver's "Green" Realtor Sayo Nickerson of ReMax Real Estate Services who currently donates 10% of her net revenues from real estate sales to three local environmental groups. "I care about the environment and want to make a difference too" says Brown. "Seeing how Sayo does it showed me I could do the same!"
Brown’s property is a penthouse 2 bedroom 2-bathroom suite currently listed at $524,900. The first Open Houses will be this weekend on Saturday from 1-3 pm and Sunday from 2:30 - 4:30 pm. Come have a look and enjoy complimentary snacks at 401-1990 Dunbar St. (at the corner of West 4th Ave.)

Ecological aquaculture is an alternative model of aquaculture development that implements the use of ecosystems design, ecological principles, social ecology and systems ecology paradigms for the development of more sustainable aquaculture operations. Ecological aquaculture farms are “aquaculture ecosystems”. Ecological aquaculture plans for not only for production, but also for sustaining vital social networks that nurture ecosystem health and promote the stewardship practices essential for economic and social profit. Ecological aquaculture incorporates — at the outset and not as an afterthought — planning for community development, and concerns for the wider social, economic, and environmental contexts of aquaculture at the commercial, school, and homeowner scales.
