After more than two months without team captain and star goaltender in net, the Vancouver Canucks got some great news on Monday.

Luongo's return can not come soon enough for the struggling Canucks, who host the New Jersey Devils tonight at GM Place on Canucks TV PPV. The team has dropped four of the last five games and are a dismal 9-11-3 since Luongo was injured. In an attempt to stop the skid, general manager Mike Gillis, acquired goaltender Jason LaBarbera from the L.A. Kings on December 30th. The Burnaby native, LaBarbera showed promise posting a record of 2-1-2 and a save percentage of 2.72, but is in no way the goalie of the future for Vancouver.
Despite missing so much time Luongo still remains near the top of the league in many statistical categories. His five shutouts is good enough for a second place tie. He has also been voted into this months All-Star Game in Montreal.
The Canucks currently sit at 5th place in the Western Conference, five points back of division leading Calgary in the North West Division.

- Autographed Dual 8 x 10 photo of Ryan Kesler and Alex Burrows for only $45 (only 35 available)
- Autographed Limited Edition /100 8 x 10 photo signed by: Kesler, Bieksa, Burrows, Pyatt and potentially Demitra. The price will be $75 without Demitra and $90 with him.
Why would anyone believe for one minute that in a case where the on-ice referees have to go to a video replay and talk to folk back in Toronto, that Vancouver would ever get the decision?
Technology willing, Dave Olson and I and his awesome cast of hockey pundits will be doing a live Canucks Outsider webcast using ustream.tv Saturday at 5p.m. Pacific to coincide with Game 6 of the Canucks/Dallas Series. Fingers crossed that there won't be a Game 6. If there's no Game 6 we'll still go live for a couple of hours as I am sure we'll have tons to say about the quest for the Stanley Cup.
