I think the combined distractions of work, travel, new responsibilities and my absolute addiction to the U.S. elections (yes I am drinking the Obama-Kool-Aid) I've been a little neglectful of VancouverVibe.ca and the blog. The good news is, things are back in motion! We've got a few cool new updates based on user-feedback in the pipeline and I would like to share them with you now:
- The Fancy-Shmancy Bookmarklet: Okay, it's not that fancy. Basically, if you're a Firefox or Safari user, simply drag our Bookmarklet (below) into your Bookmarks Bar. Now whenever you find a story you like, click on the Bookmarklet and it will fill in the URL and Title for you on VancouverVibe.ca and you're off to the races!

Remember my mention yesterday of Open Office? Well, in today's news
a headline in The Inquirer says "IBM offers its flavour of Open Office
for free". It goes on to say that IBM has joined Sun and Google in
promoting the open source community, and has committed 25 developers
to it. The days of the locked-in proprietary package of programs
with an operating system are about over, Folks. I've said all along
that what we need is a basic O/S to which we can add our own choices
of components for browser, email, office suite, and media player.
Such as: Firefox, Thunderbird, Open Office, and WinAmp...
Another headline: "Air India probe blocked in 1989" - Seems to me
that we're devoting more space to this topic than the Second World
War. When are they going to move on ?
And Dame Kiri te Kanawa, asked to name the greatest singer that ever
lived, responded "The young Elvis Presley, without any doubt."
Hmmmm...."Me Jane, him Tarzan!" We didn't call him "Elvis The Pelvis"
for nothing, Kiddies. And when Kiri was born, Elvis was 9 years old.
Enjoy your day, Everyone !
P.S. - The classic definition of a Hippie is:
Look like Jane, Act like Tarzan, Smell like Cheetah.
